Can the Opera and Forks Reality Show be far behind? (H/T to Perelandra)

I nabbedy my copy of EW from the mailbox and have just looked at the artwork. It’s really gorgeous. My only teeny amusement is (again!) Edward’s hair, which is not a 1918 haircut (oh well). But in feeling, character age, and execution, this comes close to my own vision of Twilight (I’ve not seen the films). I wish it were all in color, because the pages that are, are beautiful. I look forward to getting this.

I’m certainly interested, as no movie could really capture the beauty and atmosphere of the books for me. I’ll probably leaf through one at the bookstore before I decide on purchase. If Alice and Jasper look as they do in my head, I’m in.

Actually, it doesn’t bother me if the illustrations in the graphic novel fit the imagined images in my head. I guess this is because of the art format rather than real actors fully fleshing out (for good or ill) and overriding the books (see http://thehogshead.org/have-the-films-overwritten-the-books-3040/). I’ll take “close enough.”

Though I’ve not had much experience thus far with graphic novels, the sample intrigues me. The artwork is lovely, and I’m glad they had Stephenie Meyer give input. The script in the sample, at least, is obviously put together with much care.
By the way, the Lev Grossman interview over at TechWorld was fantastic, Professor. Well done.

Maybe not “opera” and “reality show,” but I see lots of Twilight Valentine products this year.
